INTERVIEW mit Tim (English translation included)

Es folgt ein Interview mit Tim, Songwriter und Produzent von Nebelhaus, geführt von J.M. am 06.05.2026 zum neuen Album EXOTIKA, Nebelhaus GOLD und anderen Themen.

J.M.: Das nächste Album, Exotika, wird schon nach einem Jahr erscheinen, nachdem das erste Studioalbum 5 Jahre gebraucht hat. Warum hat das erste so lange gedauert und das kommende geht so schnell?

Tim: Als wir Anfang 2021 mit Nebelhaus angefangen haben, waren wir nicht mal Amateure und noch mehr als Grün hinter den Ohren. Es hat sehr lange gedauert, bis wir uns gefunden hatten und auch einen Weg, nachhaltig und effizient Musik zu produzieren. Das ist der ganze Grund. Als wir anfingen, NDH zu produzieren, habe ich nebenher weiter Songs geschrieben und die haben eben auf einem Album Platz gefunden. Ob das dritte Album dann 2028 kommt kann ich aber noch nicht sagen, dafür sind noch nicht genügend Songs da, aber wir wollen ohnehin erst schauen wo die Reise nach EXOTIKA hingeht.

J.M.: Wird sich EXOTIKA von NDH abheben oder eine Ergänzung sein? Was können die Fans erwarten?

Tim: Also für mich ist es eine Weiterentwicklung, sowohl im Songwriting als auch in Stefan’s Gesang, der jetzt kaum noch das R rollt und auch mehr singt. Ist es noch NDH? Eigentlich schon, wenn auch nicht mehr so stark von Rammstein oder Lindemann beeinflusst. Auch die Texte sind jetzt zahmer. Irgendwie denke ich, dass das unsere normalste und kommerziellste Platte werden wird. Natürlich können wir bei der nächsten dann umso mehr wieder in Abgründe eintauchen. Aber das Leben ist ein auf und ab, Veränderung eben. Und immer das Gleiche wollen wir auch nicht machen, daher sehe ich EXOTIKA als eine gute Abwechslung an.

J.M.: Du sagtest, EXOTIKA wird auf Provokation und Abgründe verzichten, versprichst du dir damit dann mehr Erfolg als mit NDH oder wird es eher ein kommerziell ausgelegtes Album werden?

Tim: Nein, das nicht, aber klar kann das auch mehr Leuten gefallen, wenn es nicht jedes Mal um Sex oder Tod geht. Es sollte auch mal Songs im Bandkatalog geben, die man jedem zeigen kann und sich nicht bei manchen Textzeilen schämen muss, wie wenn man mit seinen Eltern einen Film anschaut und dann eine Bettszene kommt. Sehr unangenehm! Aber klar werden auch harte Themen behandelt aber nicht sehr viele. Es ist ein eher unbeschwertes Album, wenn man es so ausdrücken will.

J.M.: Können wir bald mit einer Tour rechnen? Sind Live-Auftritte geplant?

Tim: Bald nicht aber es steht auf unserer Liste.

J.M.: Vor kurzem gibt es mit Nebelhaus GOLD nun eine Mitgliedschaft. Ist das ein Fanclub oder wie kann man sich das vorstellen?

Tim: Nebelhaus GOLD ist quasi unsere Version von Patreon. Sie läuft über unseren Shop, damit haben wir 100% Kontrolle, auch was den Beitrag angeht. Für 10 € im Monat bekommt man 10% Rabatt auf jede Bestellung sowie Zugang zu exklusiven Inhalten wie Videos, aber auch Frühzugang zu neuen Veröffentlichungen, Tabs und noch vieles mehr. J.M.: Ein neues Album, Nebelhaus GOLD, vielleicht dann auch Konzerte, was ist noch geplant?

Tim: Ich habe ja immer noch sehr große Lust ein Hörspiel zu produzieren. Wer den Skit auf der Thüringer Klöße CD gehört hat weiß, worum es geht. Natürlich mit mir und Stefan und hoffentlich vielen namhaften Musikern als Gäste, einige Rollen wurden sogar eigens auf diese geschrieben. Das Skript ist zwar noch nicht fertig, aber das wäre auch ein Projekt für das Nebelhaus Universum, was in den nächsten Jahren kommen könnte. Zudem habe ich auch Ideen für Kurzgeschichten, basierend auf Songideen, die ich nicht weiterverfolgt habe, da geht es auch um teils abartige, teils Tragische Sachen, also wäre auch noch eine Art Kurzgeschichtensammlung möglich. Vielleicht nach Exotika dann. Und auch sonst macht es mir Spaß in einfach alles involviert zu sein. Planung und Herstellung der 5 Jahre Box zum Beispiel oder der Shirts und Merch generell. Da wird es dann in Zukunft auch noch mehr geben.  

J.M.: Na da können wir doch frohen Mutes in die Zukunft blicken. Danke für das Gepräch.

The following is an interview with Tim, songwriter and producer for Nebelhaus, conducted by J.M. on May 6, 2026, about the new album EXOTIKA, Nebelhaus GOLD, and other topics.

J.M.: The next album, Exotika, is set to be released just one year after the first studio album, which took five years to complete. Why did the first one take so long, and why is the upcoming one coming out so quickly?

Tim: When we started Nebelhaus in early 2021, we weren’t even amateurs—we were still wet behind the ears. It took a very long time for us to find our footing and figure out a sustainable and efficient way to produce music. That’s the whole reason. When we started producing NDH, I kept writing songs on the side, and they just found their way onto an album. I can’t say yet whether the third album will come out in 2028—we don’t have enough songs for that yet—but we want to see where the journey with EXOTIKA takes us first.

J.M.: Will EXOTIKA stand apart from NDH or be a complement to it? What can the fans expect?

Tim: Well, for me it’s a step forward, both in terms of songwriting and Stefan’s vocals—he barely rolls his R’s anymore and sings more. Is it still NDH? Basically, yes, though it’s not as heavily influenced by Rammstein or Lindemann anymore. The lyrics are tamer now, too. Somehow I think this will be our most mainstream and commercial album. Of course, we can dive back into the abyss all the more on the next one. But life is full of ups and downs—it’s all about change. And we don’t want to keep doing the same thing over and over, so I see EXOTIKA as a nice change of pace.

J.M.: You said EXOTIKA will do without provocation and the abyss—do you expect that to bring more success than NDH, or will it be more of a commercially oriented album?

Tim: No, not that, but of course more people might like it if it’s not always about sex or death. There should also be songs in the band’s catalog that you can show to anyone without having to be embarrassed by certain lines of lyrics, like when you’re watching a movie with your parents and a bedroom scene comes on. Very awkward! But of course, tough topics are addressed too, just not very many. It’s a rather lighthearted album, if you want to put it that way.

J.M.: Can we expect a tour soon? Are there any live performances planned?

Tim: Not anytime soon, but it’s on our list. 

J.M.: You recently launched a membership program called Nebelhaus GOLD. Is this a fan club, or how should we think of it?

Tim: Nebelhaus GOLD is basically our version of Patreon. It runs through our shop, so we have 100% control, including over the membership fee. For €10 a month, you get a 10% discount on every order as well as access to exclusive content like videos, early access to new releases, tabs, and much more. There’s plenty to look forward to.

J.M.: A new album, Nebelhaus GOLD, maybe some concerts too—what else is in the works?

Tim: I’m still really eager to produce a radio play. Anyone who’s heard the skit on the Thüringer Klöße CD knows what it’s about. Of course, it’ll feature me and Stefan, and hopefully lots of well-known musicians as guests—some of the roles were even written specifically for them. The script isn’t finished yet, but that would also be a project for the Nebelhaus Universe, which could come out in the next few years. I also have ideas for short stories based on song ideas I didn’t pursue—they deal with things that are partly bizarre, partly tragic—so a short story collection might be possible too. Maybe after Exotika, then. And I also enjoy being involved in just about everything else. Planning and producing the 5-Year Box Set, for example, or the shirts and merch in general. There will be even more of that in the future.
